Yes, this was a reply I had the misfortune to have to send out earlier today, with a heavy heart. I personally feel really bad for the person whose account we had to terminate.
There was no 'good' way to handle this.
Original owner came to us, stating that they 'cannot login'.
Current owner says the original email on the account was actually their own (clearly a lie because we communicate with the actual owner of that previous email in a parallel ticket).
So we are dealing with two potential liars, and what is at stake? Account/data security/privacy/potential legal consequences of making the wrong decision.
Do we really want do deal with associated risks and the cost of time spent on investigations, communications, etc for a $5/mo plan? The answer is clearly No.
We gave the chance to the current owner to cooperate, we would have worked something out. Instead, current owner starts accusing us of, like you mentioned, 'push more expensive deals for money' etc.
This is very, very sad.
Simple fact is. There are much, much easier ways to go about 'getting more money' if we wanted to achieve that (how about raise prices for all existing clients? Actually, the rationale is there, electricity costs are skyrocketing, CN2 GIA bandwidth went up in price twofold since 2018, etc). We're not doing that, we're honoring the deals, even though from contract law point of view we do not have to. Raising prices would be 100x more effective cost wise than terminating 1-2 old accounts each month (and dealing with the resulting outcry). Well, literally anything else would be better in terms of increasing cash flow than dealing with this.
Anyway, a lot was said on this subject. Our goal is to make sure our clients' accounts stay secure and no one's personal data gets exposed, and at the same time we're not stuck in this endless loop of account theft, resales and subsequent recoveries, and upset clients.

瓦工说给了当前账户控制人机会进行沟通,本来是可能商量出来一个办法的。但是他直接就指控瓦工想要强推高价套餐。
